McDonald's Not Loving It!

Okey dokey. So there I was on August 1, 2010 at the Walmart located on Boulder Highway and Nellis. Inside there is a McDonald's. After I didn't find what I needed at Walmart I decided to get some hot fudge sundae's for my family. I was the only one shopping but the rest of my family was at the Dog Fancier's Park with our two dogs...running them since it's been so hot you can't run much during the summer here. I stepped into line at the McDonald's and someone took cuts. And they got served over me. Ok now maybe they didn't see me there, whatever..however I noticed that they were mexican and every employee at this McDonald's was mexican also. Not one to start something in public, I just let it slide. I picked up the family at the dog park, we had to go to another Walmart so I thought we could get something from the McDonald's at that Walmart. Something things happens. This person she doesn't look mexican. But she starts speaking spanish to the lady behind the counter and they agree to let her take cuts in front of me. This time I am pissed, I am hot and thirsty and in no mood for this stuff. I waited for 10 minutes to be served. This McDonald's is inside the Walmart on Sunset and Marks. They keep chatting with her she has a Walmart receipt saying something about french fries and how she paid at Walmart for them. I am so mad I can hardly stand it. The employees see me however they still don't take my order. Five people are behind me in line and they are getting mad too. I finally get too mad and walk away. Anyway I am calling corporate on McDonald's because Walmart really just rents the space to them. What kind of customer service is there going on the Walmart McDonald's. None I say. it's been like 4 days I am still mad and shaking as I write this. In my day of working at McDonald's we would have taken everybody's order, immediately given food instead of wait for your number to be called (maybe 10 minutes later, if you're lucky) and would not have stood for someone to cut in line. Of course this was all 18+ years ago. And food back then wasn't premade like it is today. Mostly if we were in a rush we took a guess and put food out however it was immediately ordered and ready to go for the customer. Today you're lucky to get your food steaming hot. Back in my day you got your food steaming hot. Plenty of time I burned my mouth on fast food burgers! Oh I forgot to mention but the guy in front of me at the second Walmart McDonald's had never been to a McDonald's, he didn't know what he wanted, kept looking at his phone...maybe his phone was ordering too! Heck I don't know...after 10 minutes of waiting behind him he decides that I can go ahead of him and then the lady cuts in. By the way the customer in front of me is mexican too. Can't swing a dead cat without hitting a mexican these days. Deport all the undocumented back to Mexico!!

MCDONALD'S NOT LOVING IT!!

Traffic Circles? Are they really helping!?!

Ok here in Las Vegas (especially Summerlin area) we have traffic circles. Basically a circle of grass that you go one way in. I have lived in this city for over 18 years and they were initially called "Round-abouts". Now today they are called "Traffic Circles". Go figure. Anyway on Buffalo between Blue Diamond Rd. and the 215 freeway there are "traffic circles". The traffic circles are suppose to help the heavy flow of traffic. First of all that area is not "heavy" with traffic. All they do is hinder traffic flow not help it! Ridiculous! Preposterous! Anyway the person who thought of that needs some serious help! Absolute waste of tax payers monies. There was no problem now it hinders traffic. Goes to show you how tax payers continue to get scammed!!

Las Vegas Mini Gran Prix

Ok, so I got invited to a birthday party at the Las Vegas Mini Gran Prix. I have never been there, drove by it a few times over the years but never stopped. Lots of families there. Very busy parking lot. Kids running wild. So I go inside to see where the birthday party was. Find it. Now it's time to explore. First you need tickets. Ok so you go to the cashier to purchase tickets. $6.50 a ride or buy five or more tickets and pay & $6.00 a ride or $18.00 an hour for unlimited rides. So you think that's the best deal right, $18.00 for an hour. NO!! You wait in the long lines for 15 minutes to get on a ride. So you only get to ride 4 rides in an hour. Not really fair! Ok if you purchase 4 rides at $6.50 per ticket you pay $26.00 for the hour. However tickets don't have any time limit on them. You have to use them that day but no time limit outside of hours of operation. So you tell me which is better. I have to say that the go-karts are the best! You have to watch out for crazy drivers, hey just like in real life! Anyway don't pay hourly. And watch where you sit because they will just come by and take your drinks on you when you are not looking. Trying to make room for the next person. There is no all you can drink. You pay $5.50 for a pitcher of soda. $6.00 for pizza. What a deal. Not good pizza, crust on the bottom wasn't cooked enough. Some spices in the sauce. I don't know missing something totally in the pizza. A pitcher of soda, you get about 4-16 ounce glasses. Not bad. But it's crazy as heck in there. I don't know how they do it. Complete chaos. Don't go without aspirin in tow!

Hauler Parade!

Hauler Parade! A hauler parade is a continuous line of all the haulers that haul the race cars all over the country to all the races!

So we find out that the hauler parade is on Las Vegas Boulevard, going down the strip and then getting on the freeway and ending up at the Speedway! It's at night this year so they could have more fans to watch it, at least the ones who work during the day, banker hours! It started at Russell Road and went down the strip to Sahara and got on I-15 freeway and exited Speedway Blvd. I decided that I would go to Speedway Blvd and take pictures with my husband in agreement. He didn't get to watch it this year because he was still working at his second job. Of course two days later was his last day!

The parade started at 6pm and I was waiting and waiting. 6:30pm rolls by nothing yet! Finally at 6:50pm here comes the parade! OMG! Horns were blaring! Sirens going! I had tears in my eyes! I was so excited, I almost peed my pants! I was jumping up and down and felt like a little kid! I took pictures of every hauler that came by. And hats off to the drivers of the haulers who saw me and slowed down so I could get the pictures! Not every driver slowed down but it was awesome for the ones that did!

It lasted about 7 minutes! 64 haulers came down Speedway Blvd and I got pictures of every one of them!! A few drivers didn't participate in the hauler parade including my husbands driver Matt Kenseth!

So if the hauler parade comes to your town be there! It is an awesome sight to see!

Racing Family!

OK so last weekend on February 27 and 28th. And it was race weekend here in Las Vegas! It took us at least 30 minutes to go 1.5 miles from our house to the track. Yes you guessed it we live by the Speedway!

Anyway so my husband gets tickets and are in the Dale Earnhardt Terrace! And it was awesome because Dale Earnhardt is my favorite. And has been my favorite since I was a little girl. The main reason is because he raced fast and hard and his car was black (my favorite color)! So when he died I transferred that love and attention to his son Dale Earnhardt Jr.! The terrace seats we had really were not that great as far as looking out on to the track. Which was a bummer! Last year we were located on the Richard Petty Terrace at where all the cars came off pit road! That is the spot to be! As it turns out this year all the wrecks were around the Dale Earnhardt Terrace! It was awesome all the smells! Burnt rubber, tires, and gas smell. From this angle we got to see the cars hit pit road and we got to see all the crew go get gasoline! It was awesome to see the long line for the crew to do this! They had their gas cans on little wagons! It was so cute and awesome!

I got some souvenirs! A pack of pens and ticket holder and a pack of pencils! Of course they were Dale Jr's stuff!

And so we were leaving and totally thought it would take at least an hour to get out! And my husband comes up with hey why don't we bar-be-cue next year in the parking lot to kill time. And you know who much time it took us to get home? It took 20 minutes! 20 minutes, can you believe it!?! It was awesome!

Ok ok I know you want to know the winner of the race!! Jimmie Johnson! It was an awesome finish! A fight to the very end between Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson! Everybody in the stands were on their feet cheering and hollering!! Just awesome!

Anyway...my sons driver is Jeff Gordon, my husbands is Matt Kenseth and mine is Dale Earnhardt Jr. My 2 daughters don't have a favorite and one really hates NASCAR! Sad!

WHAT THE F..K?

So today I was watching NASCAR race with my husband before he went to work. We watched all the prerace activity. We listened to Katharine McPhee sing the national anthem. Absolutely beautiful voice! 'Course I didn't vote for her when she was on American Idol. And there is the famous words said after "Gentlemen start your engines"! Who was said by Andy Garcia in English and Spanish....what the f... This is an Amercian sport you speak english in America, turkeys! You don't say those famous words in Spanish.

In case you haven't figured it out yet I am for NO, I repeat no illegal immigrants. Yes I am third generation born in this country however I do not believe in flooding our country with illegal immigrants. Our country is flooded with Hispanic-Spanish speaking illegals! Here in Las Vegas there are so many illegals, you can't swing a dead cat without hitting an illegal! The illegals are allowed to do anything they want. If they don't carry auto insurance and they wreck then they are allowed to leave the scene of the accident without anything done to them. My best friend was hit by an illegal and her brother was killed and nothing was done to that illegal for the killing. She didn't even get her medical bills paid. She was the middle car, so her car was the accordian. And she lost her brother 2 months later from that accident.

SO IF YOU LIVE IN AMERICA SPEAK ENGLISH! This is not Mexico, THIS IS AMERICA! Send those illegals to the front lines in war time!! Not our boys!

NO SPANISH WORDS IN OUR AMERICAN SPORTS!!! AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL!

Do you remember when....?

Do you remember the 1986 Challenger explosion? I do, I was just 13 years old and in 8th grade, junior high. There was a TV brought into our English class so we could see the launch. And just like millions of other people we watched the Challenger blow up. I thought that it was so cool for a teacher to be going to space and it surely would have opened the door wide on civilians going to space.

As I look back on that day, I tend to think that it was a conspiracy. Yes I said it! Because if the mission was a success then civilians would be able to go up. We took 10 steps back when Challenger blew up. And today we are still behind and not where we should be. I don't want to take away from the astronauts that died, either. They believed in something and they died for that belief. We as Americans would have pushed for everybody to go up. And maybe as Americans we should today.

Anyway January 29 was Remembrance Day. NASA also remembers the crew members in the Apollo 1 fire in 1967 and the break up of Columbia's re-entry in 2003. All three accidents occurred during the last week in January or early February.

My husband believes that this post is too provocative...what do you think?

Is this a coincidence or conspiracy? You be the judge! I'm still sticking with conspiracy.

Nasa

I love space! We should have colonized the moon by now. We are 50 years behind ourselves. And you should be able to go to the moon whenever we want and not for rich people either!

The Endeavor, STS-130 will be set to go up to the International Space Station on February 7! Yay! This mission is to deliver Tranquility Node 3 and Cupola.

Now we only have a couple of years left before we give everything over to Russia! In fact our President Obama has scrapped future take offs. Ok I can understand that we don't have money for the program but also why are relying on other countries. It sucks. We should still be exploring the galaxy. I mean come on. When did we become second class in space. We don't need to scrap the space program. We need to continue to explore.

Anyway for those of you who love to watch the space shuttles go up, February 7!

And in case you don't know you can actually watch the space station with your naked eye! You don't need a telescope. You need to be in a dark place, like out in the middle of the desert. You only have a few seconds to view it as it passes over you! I have seen it a couple of times. You can't see it during the day only at night because it's all lit up. It's so awesome and most people wouldn't even know that it is above them! And don't forget NASA tv is always available.

Las Vegas Real Estate: Nicholas Cage

Hats off to my husband for letting me report this one!

The Las Vegas Sun has reported today that Nicholas Cage's (the best looking actor in Hollywood, according to me), (shh don't tell my husband..lol) home here in the Las Vegas Valley has been foreclosed and sold while being on the market for only one day. Apparently this luxurious six bedroom, 14,300 square foot home went into foreclosure in early December. Apparently the star owes more than $6.6 million to the IRS for back taxes, dating back as early as 2002.

He has actually lost 4 homes total. He lost 2 homes in New Orleans , one here in Las Vegas and one in California.

Mr. Cage told People Magazine that during his career he has paid at least $70 million in taxes. He also said he has a legal situation going on. He is my favorite actor in Hollywood. And this is sad that he is losing his homes, but how many do you actually need to live in!

Anyway, this Las Vegas house sold for $4.95 million after being only one day on the market. Wow! However that is $3.5 million less that what Mr. Cage paid for it in 2006. In case you're wondering and I know you are, this luxurious home is located on Spanish Heights Drive near Tropicana and Durango.

The best thing going for this house is the pool and jacuzzi. Of course I love pools so I am always partial to them! Another feature this luxurious home has going for it is the elevator. Hats off to the person who thought of that for the disabled!

It sounds like the IRS is dogging Mr. Cage. Of course the more money you make the more attractive you become to the IRS. They don't care about people but they sure will take everything you have.

Good luck to Nicholas Cage during this unfortunate time in his life! He has at least one fan who is pulling for him!

Weather

Do you live in Las Vegas? And miss the snow? Well we all know about Mount Charleston. Which is really pretty all year round. But let's talk about Red Rock. Beautiful all year round but have you seen it when it's covered in snow?

Just a short 25 minute drive from the strip is Red Rock Canyon. If you go on the scenic drive it will cost you to get in. However the scenic overlook is free. You can see the whole canyon. My family and I took a drive last December to see the canyon. It was raining really hard out until we got to West Charleston Blvd, just as it turns into the highway to go to Red Rock Canyon, it started snowing. They were the biggest flakes I have ever seen. And growing up in Southern California, you don't see much snow. My husband grew up in Wisconsin and saw snow every winter and he said they were the biggest flakes he had ever seen too. It took awhile to get to the scenic overlook because the snow was coming down fast and thick very quickly. We finally arrived and we weren't the only ones who decided to see Red Rock in the snow. They were at least 10 cars there. And most of them were getting ready to leave because the snow was getting too thick. We could only stay a few minutes because we didn't have snow chains or tires for our KIA. We brought our puppy and he was in the snow for the first time. He got cold rather fast and so did we because we didn't bring our heavy coats. Silly us!

Anyway, the next time it rains during the winter and you have some time to spare check out the white snow dusting the Red Rock Canyon walls. It is a sight to see!

Las Vegas Show - Anthony Cools

Today I watched a show called The Millionaire Matchmaker on Bravo TV. She is a third generation matchmaker. And actually she is pretty good with making successful matches. This particularly episode was about a gay guy and a straight guy. I'm not here to discuss the gay guy, I want to discuss the straight guy. And that guys name is Anthony Cools. He is a headliner for the Paris Hotel on the strip. I have not been to his show nor will I go even if it was free. First of all the first thing he said about himself on the show was I have a garage full of Lamborghini's. Obviously he is overpaid and has a giant EGO!

What he did to this lady whom Miss Stranger set him up with was preposterous! He said he just got out of a relationship 5 months ago (5 months from when the show was taped) and the girl he was going with lied to him and that's why they broke up. At least that is what he told millions of people watching the show. He also likes to brag about how he can give a woman an orgasm with the touch of one hand! Yeah under hypnosis. He is a hypnotist. Anyway, he told his date, Brie, that he was poor and basically had no money. He says women use him for his money! She was flown out and in a limo for the date. And he took her to a cheap and poor lit bar somewhere in Las Vegas, of course you can find them anywhere! After according to him "testing her" he told her the truth. She was very mad because he lied to her! And he expected her to not be mad. How idiotic can you be! She didn't care about money, she was having a good time at least up until that point. They never spoke again! Never saw each other again. He breaks up with someone who told lies to him and then he tells lies and expects the girl not to be mad! Please!!

Get over yourself!

I will not go to his show because of his very poor character flaw! Besides with his house in Los Angeles and his house here and his Lamborghini's in the garage. It only makes him rich! Besides in his show he gets women to strip while under hypnosis! And that's the only way he gets women to strip! People only have made him rich! Don't waste your hard earned money on this loser!

It's ridiculous what he did, I am surprised the Paris Hotel didn't cancel him but then again it was free advertising for the hotel!

Las Vegas Show - Nathan Burton

I highly recommend everyone to go see Nathan Burton. It's a show for all ages. It blends magic and comedy in one. He's great! And he manages to make it so enjoyable. He blends his family: his mom, his brother and sister into the mix. Although they are mostly backstage hands. I think it is really nice to make it a family affair. My husband took me to it in December and I went to see it again with our 12 year old daughter in January!

After the show he will sign autographs and take pictures. He will chat with you and answer any questions, of course no trade secrets!!

He is inexpensive and entertainment for the whole family. If you have a baby, please don't bring it, his show has strobe lights.

He is at the Flamingo Hotel, he does one show daily. Definite a must see!! He also has a guest magician in the mix, who is also funny! His guest magician is a great improv! When I went to the January show, in my row was a 5 year old boy who just couldn't sit still and wanted to talk to them throughout the show. He was great for improv with the boy!

So if you're looking for awesome entertainment and an inexpensive (let's face it who isn't looking for cheap entertainment) strip show for the whole family see NATHAN BURTON!

By the way if you give them your email address his sister actually will personally email any information about the show to you. Where can you go wrong with that kind of entertainment!

Welcome to The Las Vegas Cat

This is my first blog....
